Ordering & Shipping Confirmation

After placing your order, you will receive an email confirmation within minutes. If there are any issues regarding your order or its delivery, a Modern Parts Specialist will contact you for clarification.

If you are picking up your order at a Modern store, a Parts Specialist will notify you when it is ready. If your order is being shipped or delivered, you will receive a confirmation once it is in transit.

All sales on this website are conducted on an FOB Shipping Point basis.

Pricing Errors

Despite our best efforts, items on our website may, on rare occasions, be mispriced. If an item's correct price is lower than our listed price, we will charge the lower amount and ship your item. If an item's correct price is higher than our listed price, we will either contact you for further instructions or cancel your order and notify you of the cancellation.

Shipping & Delivery Timeframes

When Will My Order Arrive?

Orders with in-stock items at our main warehouse will ship the same business day if placed before 3:00 PM EST. Orders shipping from offsite or supplier warehouses may take 2–5 business days to process, depending on availability and location.

Once shipped, deliveries typically arrive within 1–5 business days, depending on destination and selected shipping method.

The Modern Shop currently ships internationally to Canada only. We do not offer international LTL shipments; however, customers may arrange LTL pickup from our Bristol, PA warehouse.

Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the shipping address and method selected. These rates cannot be modified after an order has been placed.

Expedited Shipping

Expedited shipping is available — please contact us to discuss available options. Orders placed with Next Day Air before 3:00 PM EST will ship the same business day. Orders placed after this time will ship the next business day. Orders placed on Fridays will be delivered the following business day.

Missing, Incorrect, or Stolen Shipments

If your order shows as delivered but was not received, please contact us immediately. We will file a claim with the carrier, which may take up to 21 days to investigate. Orders confirmed as lost or stolen will be replaced or refunded upon completion of the investigation.

Incorrect shipments must be reported within 30 days of shipment.

Return Policy

All returns must be initiated within 30 days of the shipment date. Items must be unused, in original condition, and in their original packaging. Items such as seal kits or gaskets must remain sealed to be eligible for return.

  • Returns may be subject to a 25% restocking fee.
  • Special orders, hazardous materials (Hazmat), and electrical components are non-returnable.
  • Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to our error.

To start a return, please complete our Returns Request Form. Credits are issued within 14 business days of receiving and inspecting the item. Damage claims must be made within 3 days of delivery.

Important Notes

We recommend contacting our team before finalizing your purchase to ensure you are selecting the correct part for your equipment. While we strive to assist with part selection, we cannot cover return shipping costs for customer errors.

Our return policy is subject to change and does not override consumer rights mandated by law.

International Shipping Fees, Duties & Taxes

International shipments to Canada will incur shipping charges based on weight and destination. Customers are responsible for:

  • Customs duties, taxes, and clearance fees.
  • Any damages resulting from customs inspections.

International Returns & Refused Packages

If a package is returned due to incorrect address, refusal, or restricted items, the customer is responsible for return shipping fees. Refunds will be issued for merchandise only, minus:

  • A 20% restocking fee
  • Any additional costs (e.g., quarantine, shipping, warehousing) assessed by customs

If a package is rejected and abandoned by customs, no refund will be issued.

Understanding Your Country’s Import Policies

Please review your country’s import regulations prior to ordering. The Modern Shop is not responsible for delays or returns due to international restrictions.
