Ordering & Shipping Confirmation
After placing your order, you will receive an email receipt/confirmation within minutes of submission. If there are any questions regarding your order or its delivery, a Modern Parts Specialist will contact you for clarification.
If you are picking up your order at a Modern store, a Parts Specialist will notify you when it is ready for pickup. If your order is being shipped or delivered, you will receive a confirmation once it is in transit.
All sales on this website are conducted on an FOB Shipping Point basis.
Pricing Errors
Despite our best efforts, items on our website may, on rare occasions, be mispriced. If an item's correct price is lower than our listed price, we will charge the lower amount and ship your item. If an item's correct price is higher than our listed price, we will either contact you for further instructions or cancel your order and notify you of the cancellation.
Shipping & Delivery Timeframes
When Will My Order Arrive?
In-stock orders are processed and shipped no later than the next business day. Orders requiring parts from another Modern location or a supplier typically take 2-5 business days to process, though this may vary if items are on backorder.
Once shipped, deliveries typically arrive within 1-5 business days, depending on the destination and selected shipping method.
At this time, The Modern Shop does not ship internationally, except to Canada.
Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are estimated based on the shipping address and shipping method selected at checkout.
Expedited Shipping
We offer several shipping options to meet your needs. If you require expedited shipping, a Modern Parts Specialist will contact you to discuss options. We also provide flexible pickup options at any of our store locations.
Our cut-off time for Next Day Air is 2:00 PM EST. Orders placed after this time will be processed the next business day. Orders placed for Next Day Air on Fridays will be delivered the next business day.
Missing, Stolen, and Incorrect Shipments
If your order has not arrived but the shipping carrier marks it as delivered, please contact us immediately. We will file a claim with the carrier and initiate an investigation, which may take up to 21 days. Upon completion, we will replace or refund your order as needed.
If you receive an incorrect item, please notify us within 30 days of shipment for resolution.
Return Policy
We strive to ensure your satisfaction with every purchase. If you need to return an item, please review the following guidelines:
- Returns must be initiated within 60 days of shipment.
- Items must be unused, in their original packaging, and in sellable condition.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for items ordered in error.
- Returns may be subject to a 20% restocking fee.
- Special order items, Hazmat products, and electrical components are non-returnable.
- All damage claims must be reported within 3 days of receipt.
To initiate a return, please complete our Returns Form. Our team will review your request within 2-5 business days and provide further instructions. Refunds will be issued within 14 days upon receipt and inspection of the returned item.
Important Notes
We recommend contacting our team before finalizing your purchase to ensure you receive the correct part for your equipment. While we strive to assist with part selection, we cannot cover return shipping costs for customer errors.
Our return policy is subject to change at our discretion and does not override any consumer rights mandated by law.
International Shipping Fees, Duties & Taxes
International shipments will be charged shipping costs based on weight and destination. Please note:
- Our prices do not include customs fees, duties, or taxes.
- Customers outside the U.S. are responsible for any additional customs clearance fees.
- Any damages resulting from customs inspections are the responsibility of the customer.
International Returns & Refused Packages
If a package is returned due to an incorrect address, refusal, or restricted items, the customer will be responsible for return shipping costs. Refunds will be issued for merchandise only, minus:
- A 20% restocking fee
- Any additional fees (quarantine, shipping, warehousing) assessed by customs
If customs rejects and abandons the package, no refund will be issued.
Understanding Your Country’s Import Policies
Before placing an order, we strongly recommend checking your country’s customs regulations to ensure our products can be imported. Modern is not responsible for delays or returns due to international shipping restrictions.
